Pantone Color of the Year ~ 17-5641 Emerald Green

Pantone is headquartered in Carlstadt, NJ. The company is best know for its Pantone Matching System, commonly know in the industry as PMS, a proprietary color space, not related to a women’s sometimes monthly malady-but a system used in a variety of industries, primarily printing. It also finds it’s way into paints, fashion industry, furniture, and other consumer-oriented companies to help guide their designs for the future products. Have you ever wondered, how and where does color of the year actually get chosen? Pantone declares a particular “Color of the Year”, every year. Twice a year, the company hosts, in a European capitol, a secret meeting of representatives from various nations’ color standard groups. After two days of presentations, debate, and massive amounts of coffee, they choose a color for the following year. The color for summer of 2013, was chosen in London in the spring of 2012. The color presumably connects with the zeitgeist; for example the color, Honeysuckle, was picked for the color of 2011. “In times of stress, we need something to lift our spirits. Honeysuckle is a stimulating color that gets the adrenaline going-perfect to ward off the blues.”

      • Thank you kindly!

My digital photography started with a Canon IXUS and over the years I upgraded to a Canon Powershot, before I could afford the EOS range. Most of my recent photos have been taken with a Canon 7d or Canon 450d, and any one of the following four:
Canon 17-55mm f/2.8 Lens (Default, always mounted)
Canon 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 Lens (Wide angle for landscapes)
Canon 100mm f/2.8 Lens (Macro for close ups)
Canon 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 (Zoom for the shy subjects)

  1. You’re so interesting! I do not suppose I’ve truly read something like
that before. So nice to discover someone with unique
thoughts on this subject. Really.. thank you for
starting this up. This web site is something that’s needed on the internet, someone with a bit of originality!
